By day, the Market looked like the work of a traveling caravan of peddlers: bright gauzy hangings drape the tree branches and painted wagons open hinged sides to become clever sales booths. The sellers appeared as human as any villager, and their wares, while rare, looked mundane. Prices were reasonable, and the sellers accepted coin or trade in kind.

By night, the Market was a different place altogether. Bottles of nectar capable of bringing back a person's greatest feelings of happiness, jackets spun of shimmering cobweb, gowns made of butterfly wings, or bedding spun of real clouds that floated. Dozens of peddlers, of every inhuman shape and kind, sold strange fruits, sweet liquors, enticing rare meats, and/or pastries.

In the light of dawn, the market became its daytime self again, and the wild fancies of the night vanished; the bought goods, and the treasures traded away, were gone for good.

Like most events, this one lasted a week.
